Let me know what you guys think, it's about half the weight of the plastic. Thinking about selling them. This one is just bare carbon. I could and should finish with either resin or clear coat. Model number 001!

oh yea how the F do you flip images on this site.

Looks pretty good. You'll have to flip it before you upload it I'd think. Are you going to leave it bare? Save a little more weight.

You leave that bare it will be ruined in no time. Also don't cheap out on the clear or it will be bleached from the UV. Every plastic part on my bike is carbon fiber. I had lots of it made by a company in japan that makes hoods/fenders for the Mercedes and BMW aftermarket. The clear they are using on request is close to $60,000 per gallon. The clear coat can be seen on mclaren, Ferrari, Lamborghini, etc etc. In extreme climates like Arizona your bare carbon will take a beating. Put some coating on it. That's really cool you are building parts. It looks great, good job man.

Skinny Puppy,
Thanks. Yea I figure I could let everyone tell me if and when I sell them what kind of finish they want. I could then do it for them for more $$ or just ship it to them bare for less $$. I hear what your saying on the UV stuff Im already in the works on finding out what would be best. If anyone else is interested let me know. Im doing the air box next, then on to front fender, rear fender, hand guards, ram air intake, pulley covers and once I make the tooling a whole new sub frame (EBR styling not XB).

A subframe would be a very cool piece done in carbon. Please update if you make it to production on that. I have a tail lift in my bike and it looks cheap how the subframe looks like its two pieces. A one pice unit would look great. A trellis style tail would be cool if there was somewhere to hide the battery, fuses, ect

Make one for the CR and I'd be interested. It would save me the time of doing it myself.

buellxb9rs - For now I'm thinking $69 plus ship, for exactly what you see. This way guys that want to do the finish on their own whether it be paint color, clear coat or whatever; will have that option. I will clear coat or paint for more $$. Not sure on how much because I'm still working on what is best for clear... Plus I don't want to keep a ton of different colors around.

wolfo68 - Don't have a fairing for the CR... Send me yours and I'll make you one for free. You would be helping me out in the long run. Plus I would only need your fairing for a day, then send it back with your new carbon fairing following soon behind.

Thanks

I have some factory 1125 side fairings any interest in making some carbon ones? Or any 1125 parts for that matter i have a extra air box extra tail and 3 sets of pods.

stensg - Definitely, just would want to make sure you know Im not doing this stuff full time... So thats a lot of stuff that would take a while. For instance the windscreen above took a couple of weeks (with me only working one evening and a day during my weekend). Not complaining just making sure your aware. The time frame is really just because I don't already have the tooling made. Hence the free parts for you. Once I have the tooling its quick and easy, I can make and then ship.
One other thing is some of these parts are more three dimensional... like for the XB, the Ram air intake. Im still working on how I want to still give and create this effect with creating a one piece carbon part. Stuff like (once again) the windscreen is easier due to being flat. Too much info... Essentially my answer is YES. All I would ask is help me out with covering shipping to and fro.

Thanks!

Not Ram air intake... scoop sorry. There are others out there that are made with the walls very thin and not really replicating the OE scoop. Just wanted to clarify.

looks good, can you make it a little bit longer than stock size so it helps on the hwy.

I'm working on a Cr screen right now.... Basically don't have the time to crank out a bunch at once. When I have one done up for grabs I'll just list it on here and whoever buys it first... our I'll contact the people that have contacted me.
I do want to experiment with a larger screen, just haven't done it yet.
