Carburetor Intake for XB12 engine? Need some help.

First off, I started out with a wrecked Buell.....and I want a chopper as basic as I can build. So the FI and harness is out.

That said I am going to be running an old SU type of carb. Can anybody help me out on what intake I need to find? i know it needs to bolt to the heads....do i need one off a later model sportster.

Any help would be great.

dosent the ecm control the ignition too?

The ECM will be gone too. I will be using an aftermarket coil and ignition.

first thing,if you are using the stock frame,you will need a down draft carb and make a manifold, as a side draft like the SU will not clear the frame.If not using the frame, sportster parts might fit.Secondly SU's were used some choppers a long time ago and you might be able to find a manifold that will work.Also if I remember right SU's can be a pain in the ass to tune.Good luck with the build
