Catch Can Question

When you do the breather mod, the exit hose spits out a snotty fluid. The catch can connects to that hose, and has an outlet for the filter, and catches that fluid so it doesn't splash around on your bike or wheel.

Thanks Stylie, I'm goin to get the air box delete kit for my buells from asb so... I might as well pop for 2 of the billet catch cans. I definatly don't want that stuff on my bikes

Go get a small intake breather filter from some auto parts store. Got one on my 12r works just fine and it is cheaper

Only one catch can is needed to do the job if you go that way. Go to Kfab.com and look at the install instructions you'll see how it works there.

Shorty, I'm curious how long you've been running this and if your breather has become saturated and needed replaced. I've read that this will happen. I used a small air filter for compressors as my catch can so I wouldn't have to keep replacing the breather. It was only $12 at Lowe's so I'm hoping if it triples the life of the breather it has paid for itself.

Hi everybody, I'm new to the forum, but I did the air box delete. It instantly cured the raw fuel smell stalling and slugishness problems ive had. All I did to finnish the mod off is cap the end of the hose with a small breather filter that you can get at any small engine repair shop, and made a 4 inch loop in the hose to catch the oil, and secured it all with a zip tie. Just be sure to not kink the hose.

Oh by the way, be carefull when you do your shake down ride. My bike no longer has that that irritating throttle lag, plus it probably gained a few HP.

I've had these breathers on for three months and i have no signs of oil on them.

I use the breather in lieu of the catch can and then replace it every four months or so. At $5.00 a pop, not a big deal.

I ran an open hose out the bottom of my chin fairing, yes I thought about oil on my rear tire but my bike doesn't seem to spit much of anything out so...

Hey 06xb9r, is this working out, im getting ready to order the Air box delete kit from American and if this works it sounds the easiest way to solve the problem. What does everyone else think?

Hey firechicken. I like your solution for the breathers. Looks trick.[up].
What's with your intake? Are you running a filter in the scoop? Never seen that before, but looks good.

Any chance you've got a picture of this and of where you mounted it? I want to do the breather mod, but am balancing cost with wanting the installation to be clean.
