cel at stop

HEy guys my xb9r has a new problem when i come to a stop after riding a few miles my CEL comes on, when i accelerate it goes off again and comes back at the next stop.

Any ideas?

Check the oil level, I had a bike when the rpms are down the oil pressure would drop if it was low at all and give me the cel.

Def chech the oil. If its not low then it's a good sign you need to have the oilpump looked at before you pop the motor.

Hey Everyone,

I checked the oil, it was low but not super low as in the level was resting on the buttom of the marker for full. I did however notice a new behavior.

I have noted the normal whine of an electric motor I hear when I pull the clutch in at engine start is now a low thud as in the sound of a dieing electric motor. I am assuming this is probably the oil pump. Could some one weigh in on this?

Well I found the cause of the CEL but not the cause of that cause..it seems this is a follow on symptom to a charging problem I have. I replaced the Voltage regulator last week after reading posts on this forum. It seems the battery is still not charging and was just dead low. After a full soak over night on the charger everything comes back to life and I return to trying to figure this one out...(new thread time)
