I have a 2003 buell xb9r, the downloadable manual does not explain chain adjustment very well is that something that should be taken to the shop, or something simple I can get done without the hour drive, thanks

Ok, did you look at your bike correctly? I don't see a chain on there, and that little wheel under you BELT is a belt tensioner so there is no adjustment of your BELT\

im pretty sure he is talking about the primary chain adjustment. It is rather simple, just take off the small black cover above the shifter and measure the slack. There is a nut on the bottom of the primary case which you will have to loosen, then using an allen wrench you can turn the adjuster to tight or loosen the primary chain. It is not that hard.
