hi all. new to the forum, my name is jason and I ride a 2009 Buell xb12r bolt. having a bit of trouble hoping you guys could help narrow my potential problems down as I keep going in circles.
info on the bike: 19xxx miles. bought last year with 95xx
mods: jardine exhaust, seemingly faulty jardine protune 3 (misreads throttle input)
stock ECM with aftermarket map. (bought with map so I'm not sure what it was tuned for)
work I've done to it. new TPS, james intake seals. and running full synthetic oil.

problem I've run into and can't seem to locate a culprit. the bike is running on both cylinders. both headers get hot yet it doesn't sound right. there's no throaty rumble like she usually has. sounds like shes got a headcold. kind of like she's on one cylinder but it obviously isn't. also has no pull under acceleration and when opening the throttle it seems like its being choked off somewhere along the line. I also have a check engine light but I can't get the code read as I don't have a cable for ECMspy nor do I have the knowledge to use the jumper method to get it to flash on the dash. my initial thoughts lead me to check intake seals and after replacing the HD replacements with james nothing got better. I'm truly at a loss here and any information would be greatly appreciated/

If you can't foigure out how to read the codes then you need to take it to someone that can. Even if you have to pay the dealer a diag charge its way better than continuing to throw parts at it.

Checking the codes is super easy. If you can't figure it out - follow DualSportDad's advice and take it to a dealer...maybe you shouldn't be doing your own work.

Side note - where are you located? Maybe a local bueller can help you out as well.

There are no dealers in my area anymore. The last one that I was using was bought out and now refuses to work on buells per the new owners restrictions. The reason I can't read the check engine light is I've never used the jumper method and everything I've read about it is less than clear as far as how to actually perform it. That's why I say I don't have the knowledge to do it. If I had clear steps to follow I'm confident I could do it. That's one of the best things about owning a Buell. All of the work can be done in the driveway if need be.

Do you have a service manual? If not save yourself some time and aggravation and get one. The steps for performing are broken down much easier than the service manual.
Buellmods.com is where I downloaded mine. Give it a shot.
Also, if you replace your TPS without reclalibrating it then that's probably one of your issues.
AND those piggy back fuel management systems usually do nothing but cause problems on Buells.
Anyway. Google is your BFF when you're looking for Buell info.
Keep doing your research and Good luck!

U can get a dongle for pulling codes from americansportbike.com its cost efective. Relatively cheap
