Hey everyone, had my check engine light come on yesterday. I have a 2009 xb12Ss with about 3000 on the odometer, and 75-100 miles since a breather re-route and diesel moto rss. It came on yesterday after about a 40 minute ride (mid day in Colorado, felt like it was about 90 degrees), I stopped to meet my wife and kids for lunch but found out plans had changed and so I started the bike up again (it had been off for about 2-3 minutes and the fan was still running). After it fired up the engine light came on, I have been over the bike and found nothing that sticks out as a problem to me (breather re-route looks good still). I do not have ecmspy, and just placed my order for the service manual but was wondering if anyone may have a suggestion, the bike is running good so I am stumped. A friend at church this morning said maybe the o2 sensor? Thanks for your help.[confused]

So I did the trick to jump the wires and the reading I got is 21 inter active muffler control, the only thing I can think is that i did an oil change last week (my first on it as everything else has been done at the dealer) and when I took the filter off some oil ran down on the top of the muffler right at the spot where the controls go into the muffler. Anybody have suggestions on what my next play should be?

I am still waiting on my service manual to get here, do you happen to have a pic handy of what that is, and maybe a lead on where I can get a replacement? Thanks again for the help, never really done any wrenching on things, I could make you most anything out of wood but am really wanting to start fixing my own vehicles.

So I found the part through Buellparts.net, I am wondering now though if this is a part used when a custom exhaust is installed? Would like to put a keda and if I don't need this part I would like to put the $200 towards the exhaust. Do I need to go ahead and buy this part anyway and if not when I put the new exhaust on what about the engine light? Thanks again everyone.
