was the 1190 style going to replace the current 1125 setup? If HD didn't axe buell then I would bet that the 1190 with the smaller fairing would appeal to make young riders. I've never really liked full fairing bikes but dang that bike is sexy.

No. The 1190 is Erik Buell Racing's top of the line racebike at least until his non-compete is up. It's being produced for privateer race teams in limited quantities for around $40k. The bike cannot be licensed for street use.

I know that it can't be bought for street at this time. I'm just wondering if it was originally designed for the street to replace the 1125 before the axe fell.

well the misterious yellow bike was a 1125 but used a lot of the the same design features as this bike and I think from what I understand it was going to be more powerfull than the current 1125 bikes.

that is the feeling I was left with as well firebolt020283. The fairings, radiators, and so forth were developed to be put on the street version. I bet that bike (1190) is hell on wheels, sure would love to get some seat time on that machine!!!!

dallas, there was going to be a street version called the barracuda. it was more powerful while lighter that the 1125. The new cycle world has a whole write up on it. I think I remember seeing the article posted here somewhere.

Amazing pics, wonderful to have people on here who troll for this ****. One question, anybody? In the pic of the throttle bodies, are those the main injectors or are they a "power jet" system similar to an old 2 stroke set up? Am I the only one old and grey enough to remember 2 strokes? :D Wayne

yea baby take it off! :D[up]

I don't know about 2 strokes but it is a secondary fuel fogger system.

the only thing that is weird to me is the lack of rear brake fluid reservoir. the clear silicone tube puts question marks above my head. [confused]
I mean I get it, but dang man!

a brake reservoir is only for brake pad depletion as the pistons move further in the brake fluid fills the void. in a race you wont wear thru a set of pads fast enough to need a whole resi worth of fluid.

I asked Erik about the "Yellow" bike and he told me it was to be the 2011 1125RR Street Bike but didnt make it when HD cut the cord.

See thats how the radiators should have been!

Xtreme, thats what that whole article was about that Dave posted. Clearifying that the Barracuda2 was going to be the next production bike.

Yea the Barracuda was supposed to be around 11 more HP and 20 lbs lighter. That comes to 157 HP and 355 lbs making a power to weight ratio of 2.26 lb/Hp.

This beats out the Hayabusa's 2.46 lb/Hp and doesn't quite make it to the BMW S1000RR's 2.07 lb/Hp.

If we were able to get the 1190 version for street use it would put us at 1.97 lb/Hp which is completely insane... and fun.
