Hey Everybody! This ol' Florida boy is going to Chicago for the weekend of June 13/14/15. Going to see old friends and catch the mods vs Rockers shindig. My first time. Anybody been to this? Where should I go for beers and fun? Wish I could bring my 12R or my Enfield café but they won't fit in my carry on luggage!

I haven't been to ChiTown for many years but the last time I was there the big down town bar scene was at the intersection of Rush and Division streets (some call it the Russian Division, get it?). There were a ton of really cool clubs. Being from the Mpls St.Paul area we were used to the clubs closing here at 0100 with last call around 1230. I think they are still open in Chicago til 0400 :)

You beat me to posting it Sewerman!! I was planning on posting it so the riders in the Chicago area are aware of this awesome event. But first I need to correct you in that it is not called "Motoblot" and the guys running the event getting pretty upset if you call it by the old name. It is still being put on by the same people but they got new sponsors so they had to change the name.

Anyways, this is a great event and I would recommend at least going either Saturday or Sunday as that is when the most bikes and events will be around. Depending on your type of scene this is pretty cool and has a very 50's/60's type feel to it. You don't need to pay for a VIP pass unless you want to park you bike in their lot, go to their sponsored concerts, etc. Their events are pretty fun though so it is worth the $40 cost. Here is a link to their website: Motoblot 2014

As for where to go after, need some more information like,
-What type of crowds do you like (age/atmosphere/cost/etc)?
-Do you mind taking cabs or are you going to try and stick to public transit?
-What time will you be going out? (there are good bars for day drinking vs. later in the evening)

Chicago is very big and there are bars for all types you just need to make sure you go to the area that matches your preference. I'll check this post later and can provide some suggestions based on your responses to the above.

Going to check with my friends as to where they live. I think they live north of town in an area called Lincoln something. Will let you know. What cool bike stuff to visit? This is my third visit to the area and the people are nice. They are not accustomed to people sayin' y'all, how are you doin'? The hot dogs are killer! They bust my balls but I like the old style beer.

Been to mods and rockers a handful of times. Great time for sure. Lots of cool bikes to look at. Lower wacker and late night city riding can't be beat!!! Love living in Chicago and riding around it too. Can be a pain sometimes though lol
