Does anyone know the part number to this bearing for the XB9S (highlighted)? Has anyone performed this task? Any hints, tricks, etc?

After opening up my clutch inspection cover and trying to do a cluth cable adjustment (which was becoming more and more frequent) I pulled out the assembly and the bearings/bearing race fell out.

Thanks

Part number is 8885, ball bearing. Any dealer should have one, it fits a bunch of applications. $11. 74804 is another number around the web. Cheap, should be available anywhere.

I think you are going to have to get the clutch puller tool. I think that is within the clutch assembly cause I don't remember a bearing coming out seperately when I pulled the whole assembly.

Thats what I was thinking as well about the tool. I'll ask when I go in to get the part tomorrow. Can anyone confirm?

You just need to take the ball and ramp out and then there is a snap ring that holds the part that the bearing is suppose to be in(Figure 6-16).

Thanks, I just got everything back together. I was going to do a write up of the process but its almost too simple. The hardest part was getting the bearing out of the release plate. I don't have a puller or a press, so I had to resort to some unorthodox methods (Dremel, mallet, random stuff I could find).

Runs like new now. :)

Just to make someone life easier when searching ill put the symptoms I was having below:

About 3-4 weeks ago I noticed an odd vibration coming from the primary area at really low speeds (under 15 MPH), felt like marbles bouncing around. Even with the bike off and pushing it while in gear with the clutch disengaged I would still hear noises.

Then I noticed when riding and engaging the clutch a very noticeable clicks and generally not smooth. Adjusted the primary chain tension and clutch. Worked great for a few weeks, then the same symptoms. Adjust again and worked ok for a few days. it kept getting more frequent then finally done.

any bearing supply house will have them take race with number on it they will match up,they are not buell or harley specific, bout 5-6bucks
