During the last couple of days after a fluid change, I am experiencing Clutch Slippage. I have adjusted the clutch within the factory manual specs, and it is still slipping.

Has anyone tried the Energy One Clutches????

Also they show in the specs to soak the clutches in the fluid you will using in the primary. One Recommendation they mentioned in the was using ATF Type F...(yes in the primary....)

Has anyone done this...?

no experience with energy one clutches but make sure you also get a new diaphragm spring assembly if replacing the whole clutch pack. i don't like ATF in buell/sportster primaries. there are so many better trans fluids such as bel-ray and silkolene on the market these days that i wouldn't use ATF. the soaking of the plates in the fluid you are going to use in the primary is just to ease assembly and saturate the fiber plates. it is sort of an " old wives tale" but i still do it. keep in mind that the trans fluid that hits the clutch pack is not there to lubricate anything...it is there to cool the plates. that is all. Barnett and Vesrah make very good clutch components for buells.

I think the soak is just to make sure when refill is done you don't wind up low on oil after they absorb their fill

they used ATF in some racing buells ive read about but they also stressed that it was changed after EVERY race!

Soaking the clutch plates is an absolute must! The clutch can easily stick if the plates are installed dry. The clutch fibers are not submerged in fluid so they need to be pre-soaked.

I wouldn't use ATF in the rimary as it also lubricates the trans. ATF works fine in Harley big twin primarys but they have seperate trans oil.
