clutch plates

I have a 08 firebolt xb12r, I want to put new clutch plates in my bike. I think mine are starting to wear out. just see, what are some good ones out there or it is better to put the slipper clutch in the bike. I really don't know to much about the clutch plates. thank you for you help

Im curious how many miles are on your bike, and why you think the clutch plates are worn out? To answer your question about a better clutch the stock system on the xb bikes are more than sufficient for stock to mild build and even past wild with minor modifications such as heavier springs etc. My xb has close to 26k miles on the stock clutch and the plates arent worn out.

Energy one clutch plates are also a great option they are sold by 50dro who is great to deal with.

My r6 stuntbike has +50k on the stock clutches .... and that bike gets put through the ringer in parking lots and on the interstate ... lol

I'd recommend you first confirm your clutch is in-fact worn out.

Start by adjusting it per the manual then go for a ride. In a high gear (at-least 3rd) at constant rpm & speed, pull the clutch lever in and pop it back out. Revs should build quickly, then drop immediately again, lurching the bike forward. If not, your plates may be worn.

You can then confirm by removing the clutch pack and checking if the plate thickness is in spec or not.

If you do determine that your clutch needs replaced, I had good success with the Barnett aftermarket kit.
