I'm being told (from my local HD shop) that it's gonna cost $1200 to replace the clutch in my S3T. She's got 75k on the clock. There is no tranny damage so is this normal?? Parts $900??? I see clutch kits for under $150 on line.......plus 3 hours labor.......don't add up to $1200. WTF am I missing here???

get a printed quote that breaks down the parts and labor charges. Doesnt add up to me either.

Yep. Sounds high to me too, but I've seen how HD service works. They treat pretty much all parts they have to touch to perform the repair as consumables. It'll be all the peripherals in addition to the clutch plates & labour that all add up. Springs, basket, chain, fluids, gaskets, seals, clips, fasteners, cable, etc...

No at the time I meant that there was no activity on the forum today. Sorry should have been more specific.

I'd research the parts needed, buy online and DIY...or take the parts to a trust worthy shop to build it up, still cheaper than the what you have been quoted @ 1200 bucks for parts and labor, good luck either way
