Hi everyone! i need some help in figuring out what the problem is with my 04 xb12s.
The bike has 20k , no problem so far, i love it but lately when i start it up and pull the clutch it makes a squeaking noise some times a little rattling.I believe its coming from primary cover area. I still can ride and shift fine but the noise is making me nervous. i know something is not right.
does anyone know whats the problem?

Have you checked your primary chain? The adjustment procedure should be in your manual.

Thanks for the reply. I did check the primary, it seemed to be fine so I took it to a shop will see what they say.

Instead of taking it right to a shop, you could drain the primary oil, remove the shifter and pull off the primary cover to see whats happening inside.
There are manuals available to download on this awesome site, but you shouldn't need it.
Its a very easy job, and you can check out the cover itself, in case the clutch ramp has cracked, causing the squeak, rattle...

Thanks again for the reply. I did all I could before taking it to the shop.
I just spoke to the mechanic, the bearings are in terrible condition. $80 for the bearing kit plus $110 for labor and if all goes well ill be riding again soon

sure sounds like clutch basket hub bearing.
