hey guys, dont usually post anything just check in on different threads and such from time to time, but this time i feel this is worth posting. Im currently working out the details and such to purchase a CNC machine this week. my question to everyone on the forum is would you guys be interested in aftermarket parts. cost is much lower then any other shop or website because i have a very low overhead as far as tooling,programming and material wise. Im currently playing with foot controls for the xb series,blast and so on, timing covers,triple trees and rear sets,and intakes. Im always open to R&D with someone if they wanted something custom too. this is just a feeler to see how many people would be interested in a dedicated machinist for all the needs and desires. i have 2 years machining experience in the aerospace industry, and would be running my machine from home mornings and weekends. i would have 3 axis capabilities with the possibility of a 4th in time.

the rear pulley that has the spokes like a XB wheel. I believer dark horse moto used to make them.

What about chain tensioner for those who switch their bikes to chain drive? It's something I really want to do to my xb. Maybe even sprockets?

I would love to see a relatively inexpensive rear set with heel guards, the pulley would also be sweet too.

I was searching for a thread on here from this last summer. A guy had designed heelgaurds for XB's and was working on heelguards for the 1125's. He had started a list of people and said he was waiting for the list to get to 50 before he would start making them. List got to about mid-thirties if I remember correctly. He had designs of the old Pegasus logo and the new EBR logo. I would still be interested in that and rear sets for an 1125.

I made a helmet lock bracket last year. I'd like to see a barcket that allowed the rear pegs to be mounted. Probably not something for a cnc machine would do but something to think about.

Man seems like this is definitly a good nitch to start with. If you guys have the cad files but no way to produce then i would be more then willing to work on getting those things into production. As for other items like the heel guard, rear pully etc im definitly game to work on those project's
And get some production parts made. Im going to be making my final decision on the machine tomorrow. I.have searched high and low for one that fits my garage, and needs So i will keep you guys posted.

That looks great! I really like the helmet lock, but the pulley looks wicked. I could easily mock up some solidworks files of parts. I could help wherever after this semesters' projects (I've got 3 project-based classes that require tons of time) on designs.

The problem with the pulley is the price point of a small project like that. We have tried and as soon as you bring up the price people become uninterested. The rear pulley is not just a simple machine process and then your done. The teeth have to have some kind of hard coating to make everything last. Then if you want any kind of color on the pulley it either has to be powder coated or anodized which isnt a real expensive process but everything adds up. Your looking at a 400-500 dollar pulley. That imo is why you havent seen anybody come out with this in the masses.
