I believe this means its time for my ecu to hit the grave... but i have an 07 xb12r jardine pipe, airbox mod, headers wrapped, breather mod....

bike ran fine after i tuned it all last fall and this spring...friday night at the drag strip randomly died on me had some loose connections...and now when i start it up some times the check enginge light stays on for a bit... and hooked it up today and found this code...

question 1. Does this really mean my ecu is toast or could there be any other problems???

question 2. i have a race ecu laying around but do not know what its from??? anyway of finding that out and seeing if i can just put that on my bike and load the 07 race map to it???

yeah i know i have the manual and that is what it said just wanted more input... does anyone know how to tell what a ecu came out of because like i said i have a race ecu but i do not know what it came out of... :[

ECMSpy - Put it in your bike and Connect to it. Then you can see the firmware and know exactly what year the ECM is for.

i found the extra ecu i had and was wondering if anyone could tell me what its from i would pull my bike apart and plug it in but i do not have the time at the moment... thanks

That ECM is for '04 only. Don't know if it will work properly in an '07. Try it and let us know.

I just had this exact same thing happen with the same code! It was only a history code. Cleared and have ridden a few times without any problems. I am worried it means the ECU is on its way out.

well mine comes on every time i start it up... runs and idles just fine tell light comes on and then dies.... check enginge light goes away and bike runs like complete shit tell it feels like it wants to run okay again and then runs great tell it wants to run like shit again... ugh.... so does this meany anyone wanna buy an 04 ecu off me so i can buy an ecu for my 07???? and this ecu i know wont work it has a male connector between the two plug-ins for something that i know my bike does not have?? if its just a ground i can make one of those anyone else have any other wisdom to share with me?

Just to let everyone know that race ecu i posted pictures of is in my bike and running right now and i just put the 07 race e prom on it..... everything working smoothly! and it seems to have solved my poor running issue!
