So it is comming to be that time again here in Iowa, where it is like mid-low 50's in the morning and in the 80 during noon time. I have to ride about 25 minutes to my job and was wondering what everyone used for cold weather riding.

I'm more overly interested in just gloves. I have a helmet and the FXRG jacket which does a pretty decent job. My hands on the other hand get a little uncomfortable right now. In the next month, it is prolly going to get worse.

The gloves i'm looking at are the

TEKNIC THUNDER GLOVES: $60, Leather Construction

ORINA STYLE 118 GLOVES: $54, Hybrid Construction

HARLEY-DAVIDSON COLD WEATHER GAUNTLET GLOVES: $80, Leather Construction

Those are the choices i'm looking at.

I am wondering if anyone has had any exprience with any of these in cold weather? Do note I will probably be riding in 30-40 degree weather sometime this year. I know they won't be able to keep my hands warm forever, but if they do the job for a 30-40 minute stretch, then that would be great.

thanks for any input!

For that bit of riding, I use the Teknic Thunders - they're good all the time to about 40 degrees, and for short stints below that. For anything colder or longer, though, I recommend electric stuff, like Gerbings or Witter.

Kinda off topic, but do you guys with heat shields installed take them off when it gets cold? Seems like a fine idea to me.
