Greetings. I recently bought a 2003 XB9S and quickly realized how that rear fender (cheese grater) needs to go. I have seen a number of DIY guides to chopping the fender down to size and remounting the plate but not any reviews on the one that can be purchased from Americansportbike.com.
The item description on the site store says it is available in XB12 (Hammertone silver), or CityX (black) colors, or polished. Does the XB12 Hammertone silver match up with the 2003 XB9S silver on the side rails or is that the newer dark gray color?
Thanks for any input.
A little bit about the bike: XB9S lightning in Black. It has the factory race kit on it, bar-end mirrors, and no side reflectors. Those are the changes that I have noticed so far. I have yet to do anything to it, it came with these changes on it. I just rode it for the first time this weekend for just a few minutes and I can not wait for warmer weather.
