Complete power loss

when sitting at an intersection my bike just shut off. no power to anything at all and the tach stayed at 1k rpm where it was idling. i pushed it off to the side and went home to get the trailer. any ideas of where to start? the check engine light came on twice but went away each time within 5 seconds about 5 miles before it completely shut down. the bike is a 2003 xb9r with no mods done and very well maintained. has anyone else experienced this or even heard of it before? any help is greatly appreciated.

Regulator went out. Stator wasn't charging the battery. 03-07 xb had faulty regulator connections. 08+ had upgraded regulators.

do some trouble-shooting to narrow down the problem. and by that i mean you either have no fuel, no spark, no electrical flow thru the bikes system or all of the above. is battery fully charged or dead? batt terminals clean and tight? did you attempt to access ecm port with jumper wire and pull any fault codes? your activated CEL light in conjunction with bike dying is no coincidence.

I found wires loose at the connection to the computer. Took it all apart and soldered them back in. Problem solved just in time to still make it to the drag strip tonight. Thanks for the ideas and help.
