Who knows how to get around protected music files. I have a bunch of music on my itunes and want to put some on my phone and a lot are protected file and will not let me transfer them. Anyone know how.

Well the first thing you should learn is how to download torrent files. I would just redownload everything. You'll need a torrent downloading program like Bit Torrent available here and torrent files are here.

Its the easiest way to get free music. You can even download the discographys which are all the albums by the artist.

+1 for the Torrent! U can also use Thepiratebay.org or Torrent-finder.com . Both are exellent sites to pull "info" aka music,lol.. You will also need to download this software in order to download the "info". Bittorent.com

The bit torrent link was posted in my previous post as well as a link to Torrentz.com which searches all the major torrent sites combined including the pirate bay.

If you like to download from Itunes then at least go to the torrents and download tunebite. It converts the mp4 format to mp3 so you can download them on any mp3 player. But be careful. I have to re-format my comp because I just got a new virus that's out and it came from a torrent I downloaded.

2 things.

1. iTunes has a built in converter.
2. If you have an apple, use it for torrent downloads rather than a PC. When a weird icon shows up on your desktop, you know what you just downloaded has a virus.

check the file type and location, find relevant converter on the web, most are free anyways, if you don't want to re-download everything it's the easiest way, just save it in a seperate folder when you convert it.

It's been 13 years since that post and I'm happy to report that now, everyone has all the free music (and porn:tongue-new:) they could ever want. Thanks though:eagerness:

and whats a "CD"? Can I rent it from Blockbuster? Is that one of those things that came in the mail with 'AOL online' written on it?

I'm just glad someone finally answered that question. I was only going to wait another 2 years and then have to go find the information myself!
