I will prolly end up doing this in the future I am going to shop around for a light that will sit flush though

Went to the local Harley dealership on the weekend and they had a pair of driving lights, they looked identical to mine but chrome plated and had the HD logo engraving on them.

They also cost a pretty penny... $600 for the pair of 12v 75watt halogen lights + $180 for the wiring kit.
(the guys at the shop said that 75watt Halogens was the highest legal limit in New Zealand) so my 50watt lights are legal...

The guys in the shop asked where i got mine from and what brand they were... heheheehe
They were impressed when i told them i made them myself out of ordinary kitchen halogen lamps and that it all cost me under $100 ($80 + $10 for can of hammered black spay paint)

update: my lights are still going strong.

haven't had to change the halogen's yet. all connections are still water proof. gona see if i can run 12v 75watt halogens. i think i should have enough amps for them.

here is a power diagram i found a while back.

I used some mini driving lights from advance auto, mounted them to my handguards (XP style) and wired them into my high beams, with the universal mounts I was able to angle them way out to the sides, I think they were 35 watt h3 bulbs, cost 12 bucks, been running them for a year with no problems, will post some pics
