Cracked Ignition Coil?

I removed the coil last night and this is what I found:

I had never seen one before so when I heard about "cracked" coils I expected to see cracked metal. Well anyways I tested it and it was way out of wack with the specs in the service manual so I am going to order one right now from IronMachine.

My question is, since this will be the second time in a year I'm replacing the coil, is there likely something else "wrong" that is causing it?

make sure it can't come into contact with something that could cause it to crack.

the vibration together with contact could be a possible cause.

Okay thanks. I'll def make sure to tighten the new one like crazy to minimize that risk. There is no way to repair it either is there? It breaks my heart to have to wait till it gets here, I wanna ride so bad!!! First sunny day in a week!

use rubber or double sticky tape so the vibration is minimum

sorry for a potentially stupid question but where would i put the tape/rubber?

the double sticky tape should be the foamy one...
