It's a neat idea but ugly as it sits. I think you could change a few things on it and have an interesting chopper. Sucks that they ruined a perfectly good lightning to do it but I can see potential in the idea.

Ditch the exhaust, the "13" thing, make a nice "tank" to flow from the filler down to the seat area (not factory airbox, it'd be too tall, I'm thinking height of filler and slope back), and make a real seat area instead of that...whatever it is he calls a seat. I think it'd look pretty neat that way. And fix the taillight setup, that's retarded too

Yea... then still look at where your nuts are. Now, think about where the rear cooling fan exists 200*+ engine heat. How far you gonna ride with the inside of your thighs/you balls on fire?? To the corner stop sign wearing a bandana and some assless chaps so all your Hardley friends can tell you how badass you are??

Not specifically directed at you BTW, and I own a rigid "bobber" I built. I just built it out of a old Suzuki GS because no one will miss it.

The seat area can be remedied with proper design. Heatshielded base, relocate fan, right side scoop, should be fine. Like I said, with the right design I think it could be cool but obviously this guy didn't do that lol

No matter what, you can't change physics. Forward motion will cause rearward air flow, seat is mounted level, or below level of the rear head. Only seat redesign that will change that is to put the damn seat back where it was when Erik designed it.

If the mounting plate is insulated and has heat barrier I don't see it coming through. Like an oven mitt or similar. Sure coming out the sides but it's that way already when stock. I think fixing the heat is the least of the worries for that bike

While I'll concur that heat is probably the least of the problems, I still think it would be a big problem. My R seat gets hot on long rides in the summer as is. Seat pan looks to be made of steal. Thighs are no where near where the air exits on the R compared to where they'd be on that, and I have a air duct, slips around the shock, that actually dumps the air even lower and out both sides and keeps engine heat off the rear shock. .

I emailed the guy asking him wtf he was thinking and he gave me the opinions and a**holes reply. He did say nothing was chopped and he has all the original parts for reassembly.

He said he'd take $3,200 cash.

I'm shocked he kept the original parts, at least some one could put it back together again. Though I bet that bike has Humpty Dumpty's fate. Sorry, I guess I'm having a nursery rhyme kinda day.
