It's at this time that I find out the reason the officers were so quick to arrive (only took 15 minutes for such a rural area) was because of another 2 accidents. Both north and south of us a HD rider had run off the road
I think the place was fine to turn around. The Harley rider either panicked and didn't hit the brakes or just didn't turn enough. He had way more than enough room.
When I was up there in August, my wife and I pulled over on Highway 28 in a bad ass down pour. When I looked over, she was standing about 6 inches from the edge of a huge slope down to the river like nothing. The weeds growing up hid the impending danger. I walked over slowly and took her arm and pulled her towards the street. She was like "what the hell?!?" until I said look behind you.
I have to honest... for a moment I DID think about it...
Thought for sure someone would have been hurt, glad your ok.-- I don't hate Harleys, its some of the riders attitudes I don't like.---- What if that situation was reversed. Not that you would drop your bike off a mountain, but would he have risked himself for you? Or made some wise crack about what you ride.
