Hey folks!

New Buell and new to the forum here. After only one weekend on the new XB12Scg, I have to echo the thoughts of many messages I've read on here wondering they didn't do it earlier. This thing is a kick in the ass to ride, even if I'm still pretty tentative having not been on a sport bike since college. I've made a full circle kinda - my first cruiser was a Sportster, followed by a Low Rider, then a Heritage that I used to do the whole Sturgis thing among other touring. Last Thursday I grabbed one of the last '09 black XB12Scg's in Texas, and man is this fun! Here's a pic of it:

I've found one downside to Buell ownership - it's really hard to ride in a civil manner without just acting like a complete a-hole! :D The torque, handling, suspension, and "fit" of the bike just makes it so easy to pass cars 4 at a time, and anything under 70 feels slow. Riding becomes a game of "dodge-car". And even still, I am a conservative rider compared to "those damn kids" - but nevertheless, I enjoy being a 40 year old teenager again![cool]

Right there with ya, Chris! Good to see I'm not the only 40+ yr old kid out there. And I totally agree on the "fit" comment. I'm 5'6" and this Scg feels like it was built for me.

just switched from a superglide myself. only 39 though so still a young one. agree that this is the way to ride. reminds me of the enduro's i rode as a kid but with the tightest handling i have ever felt. i feel like i can do anything on this bike. now i'm modding away.....

Welcome and Aloha !! I'm 56 and just did a three day 614 mile trip over there on the mainland and it's great.I've been on Harleys all my life or at least starting at 20 years old with a new 1973 AMF Sportster and really enjoy the Buell Firebolt.Have fun ride safe.
