Custom 12s seat ideas??

Going to pick up a stock xb12s seat. Looking to create my own "select" seat. Prices on Baldwin, Corbin, select..street fighter..and such are so spendy...I want to create a stock seat mod that is inexpensive, quick, and reusable such as a Randy Hawk pipe. I know people have done this..I have read through the old threads on here and Badweather. Post up pics of your custom seat! Or if you've been thinking of doing this..post your idea and I'll pick something to try out!

Right now I'm think of doing gel inserts and custom padding. Then adding a Motocross "bump" like my crf450. Also a custom cover but I'm unsure about either leather or textile. Needs to be waterproof..I always get caught in rain it seems like [confused]

FYI, gel seats/inserts will give you monkey butt.

Hmm, better suggestions? I wondered about gel...specially in warm temperatures.

Maybe I should just buy instead of make one? Can't decide..just hate spending 300 bucks instead of trying myself

my custom seat was stock with switched out padding and custom leather with a lightning bolt stitched in it. That was the one that got chopped up when it was stolen.

Instead of gel. Think about memory foam. I've heard it gives you the feel of gel. Without the monkey butt

Hmm excellent suggestion Buellski...and Wolfo I think I remember seeing that seat! That would be awesome if I had something to stitch into the leather, like a Buell logo or something unique
