thanks guys here is a shot before i cut it out just drew on the cover with a dry erase and then taped it out and went to town with the body saw. cut up some screen and epoxyed it in the cut back a little tape and hit it with some black paint. i still have the aircleaner holder dohickky so it gives the outer shell some stability. i still dont like to touch it but i can put a good amount of pressure on it and nothing she still holds strong

Looks like you might've had an easier time with a dremel, but it looks great! I've always thought it would look cool if you took an airbox cover and just cut the entire thing up so you were basically left whatever design, but it would be 75% open. Something similar a fancy grate over an air duct in your house where the entire thing is mostly cut up. Hard to describe I guess.

ya i just turned the speed down the dremel was ok but it was really slow the body saw got it done quicker and then i went in and cleaned it up with the dremel and a pretty abbrasive tip. i think i smell what yer steppin in and that sounds bad ass it would be fun and look awesome

Man this is very nice. Rep point as well. I was tempted looking at my airbox cover this morning, but... it won't look good on the black one.

you could get some bright paint and outline the design and black out the screen or outline and screen could be a bright color you got lots of options. have fun:D

I use a jigsaw with a small finish blade. Tape the bottom of the jigasaw to prevent scratches. Dipping the blade in cold water frequently to prevent the blade from getting to hot and melting the plastics back together.
