My thought would be about back pressure and lean mean running condition. I run a jardine that was on bike when I bought it and my friend said I could have the original exhaust but he had modded it and just was never correct. This is a man who is 50years old and is as technically capable with things as I am.

I've seen quite a few nice exhaust mods to the original but everyone say's it has to be tuned! So keep that in mind and it's not hard to do.

Ran my gutted can with stock ECM for couple thousand miles..never even fouled a plug. I now run a Jardine..both on stock ECM. Bike runs fine, a little pop, nothing I mind tho

Tuning would obviously be better like you said..but I didn't and it's never ran bad [up]
