It is ceramic coated. I just had to paint over the few spots where I had bare metal from grinding the mounts off. I am going to see how it fares this upcoming season and if it starts to rust i will get it coated. The bike is always garage kept and I only got caught in the rain once last season. I used the same coating on the header of my dirt bike and it is holding up excellently even though it has been mudcoated and pressure washed multiple times. Guess we will just have to wait and see what happens.
