just got my 07 cityx last week. the previous owner had a sticker fetish. i tried to remove a couple stickers from the windscreen and now it's covered in the residual glue. So far i've tried rubbing alcohol, goo gone, windex and warm water and soap. nothings getting it off. any ideas?

gasoline? i used it get the adhesive from my frame puck off in like 10 minutes and some cleaner to clean the area off so the gas doesnt damage the paint, not sure how the plastic would react to the gas but i would use it as a last resort if nothing else works

[confused] sticker fetish [confused] there's a few here it seems to have that problem.....

but just ride a fews days and nights your problems will be bugs and more bugs on there...
just being funny here but rub some catnip on it and let your neighborhood cat do the work for you!! hahha:D I dont know why i said that guess I'm bored.. or try hot hot soapy water and hours & gallons of elbow grease it's cheap....

seriuosly.. there was a thread on this a while back too. cant remember what all was recomended for it. might try rubber cleaner spray like what is used to clean a wheel (rim) to put on stick on adhesive weights on or brake cleaner spray, just wipe them off fast ....

i'm not against stickers just not my style of stickers. one was an Ireland sticker (im not irish) and the other was a pennywise sticker (like the band just don't want them on my bike)

I'll try the catnip trick...if the cat doesn't get the sticker off my dog will atleast have something to do.

Here are the results
Rubbing alcohol: Just seemed to spread the glue.
Goo Gone: Same effect as rubbing alcohol.
Windex: I was desperate.
Warm Water and Soap: did ok just required a lot of elbow grease.
Adhesive remover: Did good but wasn't getting it all off
WD-40: AWESOME! worked like a champ.

thanks for the advice guys. here's the end result

Thanks Again!

Glad it worked for you! I was gonna send te suggestion of ammonia and/or heat gun or using a steamer, it's what's used for removing window tint which is basically the worlds hardest sticker to remove haha

Windex contains ammonia and will permanently fog up any clear plastics. I would refrain from using it as a cleaner for your visors or translucent plastics.
