I've been looking into HID kits for the 1125CR (I want to do both high and low beams). Most forum posts I've read recommend using the DDM slim ballast for easy fitment under the flyscreen.

But, I can't find the slim kit for sale anywhere. All of the forum links pointing to the slim kit on DDM's site now show "product not found" pages.

Does anyone know if the slim ballast kit is still sold? If not, will I be able to fit a pair of these ballasts under the 1125CR's flyscreen?

Thanks!

It looks like they no longer have it. They even removed the "Motorcycle HID kits" page. Bummer

I saw on another forum a post from the owner. By march he will no longer be selling hid kits.

Get the regular raptor kit with two ballasts - that way if one goes bad, or a bulb goes out, you have a spare ready to go in.

Thanks, guys!

Interesting to hear that they'll be out of the HID business soon. That makes me a little nervous to order from them.

@03xb9er: Do you remember if the owner gave a reason, or any more info about whether they'll still support the kits they've sold and honor the lifetime warranty?

I'm also not sure if this Raptor kit will even fit the 1125CR - every install guide or thread I've found seems to have used the "slim" kit, and I'm also planning to use two ballasts (for high and low beams) instead of just one.

I know that DDM Tuning has been one of the go-to vendors for HID kits for a while, but does anyone know of another good source? I'd be willing to pay a bit more (though probably not as much as some kits I've seen) for a kit from a company with more of a future in HIDs.

@Sirius815: I was planning to get the kit with two ballasts, but so I could use one for the low beam and one for the high beam. These are so cheap (assuming I still order from DDM) - do you think it's worth it to get a second two-ballast kit to have a backup for both?

For the price - sure. You might be so impressed with the output of the low beam that you won't need an hid hi. I don't use HID high in my car or bike. Plus with the warm up time, you won't be able to 'flash' people.

Also - for best lighting, use 4.5k or 5k bulbs - anything higher (with 35w ballasts) WILL look blue and into purple. Use 4.5-6k bulbs with 55w ballasts.

Not everything you read on the internet is true. I just called and they said they have no plans on discontinuing HIDs. There are no slims on the website because their shipment is late and they have no ETA.

I was going to say - they just NOW started having the d1s kits available - why would they start stocking those if they are quiting hid's? I think that's one of DDMs biggest sellers.

That's really odd. I JUST got off the phone and they said they have no plans on discontinuing them.

Yeah I noticed that the other day as well - I wonder if they had to switch sources and had to "discontinue" until a new supplier could be found.
