Im new to the buell world! I just got my 2009 xb9 and it has one hell of a dead spot until 4000 rpms. it coughs and hicups like something is holding it back in low rpms. then it takes off Well it does'nt take off like a jap bike but it moves ok. Im not knocking the power of the buells but it is a bit disappointing but it definately makes up for it in handling. if this is normal what can i do to fix it. im already looking into exhaust, chip, open airbox and catch can. it sounds like its getting plenty of air but the exuaust isnt getting out fast enough. any help or advice would be greatly appreciated

its a left over 09. i have 700 miles on it havent even gotten rid of the paper plate yet. i take it that its not just a buell thing and i should take it back to the dealer and let them mess with it

then it sat for a while, maybe started a few times, fouled the plugs, battery discharged and gas was prob old

Give it a chance to sort itself out, some fresh fuel.
Hold steady cruise for 5 - 10 min at 3000-3500 rpm.

I bought a 08 new in 09. Same problem.. Plugs most likely.. My dealership cleaned it all up for free of course. Welcome to the family

The bike went to the dealer today to see if they can find out whats wrong with it. I sure hope they do find something. The beautiful part about buying a new bike is it comes with a warranty. Thank you everybody for your help despite the problem i am still a proud buell owner.
