what the heck is going on with the staff at harley dealerships...everything is nice and dandy when you gonna buy a buell, but when it comes to service it, they suck...ive gone to several around dallas, and pretty much i say "my buell" and their mood changes towards me and just look at me weird....

i left my bike a sat morning (calling friday, and them telling they can see it on sat)
and the ppl at the service dpt, said they wont be able to touch it until monday, and i was like ok sure, why not...and right after i dealt w/ the lady and gave her my key, she picked up the phone and said "oh yeah bring it in anytime today, and well take a look at it"....that just made me start wondering
I called on monday (yesterday) to check the status, and they said, it wasnt scheduled to be "looked at" until tmrw morning (tuesday)...i called around 3 today and guess what, there just starting on my bike...and all i wanted is for them to check why the heck my bike wont keep a charge...wth is going on!?!?!?!?

heres some pics of my bike getting ready to go to the dealership (i even had to borrow a trailer...:(.)

Yea it is kind of lame when you ask 1 simple question about a buell and all they can say is .. let me check with someone else. I hear the best buell service comes from the state full of old people and murder... Good ol' Florida :)

I have had very good results with my local Harley Dealer. They said they welcome my Buell and my business. The service dept and the wrenches all want to talk about the bike when I take it in. One small problem is they are not Harley / Buell.... just Harley so some repairs like recall work must go elsewhere. Are there Just Buell Dealers or do you need to be Harley too??? Anyway.... the dealership is Tramontin Harley in Hope, NJ ...Just off I 80. IMO, a great place to do business...........

So true, and yes Im in love with my dealership, Seminole Buell/Harley in Orlando FLORIDA. They rock

Oh yeah, Buell is like harleys red headed step child. Try even getting a harley dealer to sell you a buell out here, let alone work on it.

I took a week for the dealer to do my 1000 mile, of course after say "it should only take a full day"... of my favorite "it should cost about $450.00".... 7 days later "that'll be $540"

My recomendation. get the service manual or find someone willing to touch them.

Wow! My 1k service ran me $290 and I thought that was steep. Even my 5k was just over $300. I really like the techs at my local Harley/Buell shop here in Wenatchee, Washington. But they had a sales rep that pissed me off enough to say I wont take my bike back there. I take any service I need done to a local Motorcycle/Snowmobil repair shop, very honest dependable guys. Cashmere Repair, about 8 miles north of Wenatchee.

I took mine into Arrowhead, a while back now, for a rocker box leak. While it was their they also did a swing arm and shock update, and the fuel vent, and retainer recalls also. Yes mine is a tuber. Very smooth no dragging their feet, or excuses. I now do most of my own work though, since I've modded, little things here and there.
If you're in the Phoenix Area I would recommend them, I haven't had any work done at Hacienda, but I haven't anything bad about them either.

Dealership threads.... I'll take this opportunity to recommend the Salinas / Monterey County Harley Davidson Buell. They bought my bike from a dealer down south, and trucked it up for me based on my down payment, and had it ready to ride when I signed my loan papers. All within a few days.

Fremont, HD/Buell in the bay area, had my down payment for a month and was no closer to getting a bike than when I first went in there.

Livermore HD/Buell was cool, got my 1k service done in a a few hours, the down side? The dealership is about half an hour walk one-way from any food / coffee / civilization.

ozzie84 i feel your pain every time i've delt with the dealer something else comes up wrong or with my questions unanswered. they trashed my rear rim, scewed up my saddle baggs, nicked front forks, and they still argue with me that you can't tune them without aftermarket link. maybe they should hang out on this forum for a while. service manual and ecmspy are the way to go. ecmspy will probably find your charging trouble code and fix your self with half the agravation.

ozzie, next time lash at the front fork.

it's easier, stronger and much more stable. ;)

I lucked out. In Idaho the dealership hear (High Desert Harley Davidson) actually has a Buell mechanic on hand that specializes in Buells.

i should start asking at the dealerships if theres anybody on the service staff that owns a buell

i went to the dealership in person this time to see what going on w/ my bike..
and guess what guys, they were freakin nice and helpfull, what a HUGE difference than on the phone, i even met with the guy who is working on my bike, and i learned that he has a tuber buell....lol
well they told me its the regulator and that they would order it for me ($86) but that its in back order until the end of the month.......go figure
so i wont be enjoying my bike anytime soon [sad]

oh and they also mentioned that im due for my 10k service, which is gonna cost me around $530, labor included, when i get around it....
but does anybody know what exactly do they do at the 10k mark?
