I go to this every year, for 25 years now except one year in a car when I threw my chain on my rat bike Honda

WIN a NEW 2012 Harley, 2nd prize a Moped-scooter thingy, 3rd prize is a $500 dollar visa card. for just $10 per raffle ticket, no excuses, rain or shine, Hell, I even rode one year in the snow.

I will be riding my (new to me) XB9SX Buell City enduro,, in translucent blue,. I actually got this for the wife but you know how it is,, needs some miles to make sure its okay for her,, all kinds of bikes show up,, mostly HD but ive ridden 2 stroke enduro bikes before, a flat tracker hot rod vintage Triumph, a restored 1959 Triumph Bonnie, a Norton, and a number of ratty asian bikes. Ride anything, ride something. Saturday Dec 7th in Portland Oregon,. There are LOTs of get togethers and after ride parties. And almost unheard of for bikers getting traffic tickets anywhere in Town on this day. the run itself gets a full Police escort and no stop signs, no traffic lights, just thousands of bikes as far as the eye can see..

COOL!!,, Good to hear. Ill post up a better pix of me so you can recognize me and one of the 2 bikes ill ride. Im expecting to have the XB all done up and ready to go, no excuses, needs to get moving, BUT if for some reason that wont work, Ill ride my wifes Sportster. Heres one pix i have on file, from August when I got hit by the drunk driver.

More the merrier, plus its for a good cause. looks like your bike can handle it. Is that up near the Dalles in the Columbia river gorge?, Some nice roads up there. Sometimes I ride across on I-205, then head east on the washington side up thru Stevenson, then across the river to the Oregon side, do the "Fruit loop" past all the orchards and road side stands, up across Mt Hood and have dinner at the Zig Zag inn on hwy 26 for their Pizza and then back home. Lots of other great roads up there.

Internet Annoyance wow glad to hear you are ok. I was also hit 2 years ago at a red light. But of course it never kept me from getting back on a bike

Weather for the week is damn cold and possible snow but SATURDAY is looking GOOD! partly sunny and looks promising. I also posted a ride meetup on the Meetup.com page for the local VME chapter (Vintage MC Enthusiasts) and 6 people are rsvp'ed, although not sure how many are riding their vintage bikes. Doesnt matter, ride whatever you can.

Wont be the first toy run in the snow, But i think we will be okay.,, COLD but okay, not much moisture for the portland PDX area. so doubt it will be a problem. just cold as heck. will keep an eye peeled.

At this point, im not sure ill have the Buell going, will try, but ive been really sick with the bug thats going around, havent got much done out in the shop or garage and will give it a try tommorrow, but its not looking good, So more than likely will ride my wifes Sportster,. a 2000 sporty, red, and if i take it will be covered in red tinsel,

however,, riding in from outlying areas be careful,,, especially the columbia gorge at this time of year, Ride safe, Ill buy the coffee or whatever warms you up

Well all the HArley's look a like to me so you will have to point me out. Ill be in a white jacket like above ^^^^.

Tad, hope you can make it but it will definitely be borderline-miserable cold. I live close so this will be an easy ride for me to make.

Lots of Harleys lol so my Buell will be probably hard to spot.

i rode my suzuki TS250 2 stroke before,,,,,, all are welcome, Some of the moped clubs come too,,, theres also a sport bike club, most of the members are black, come one come all.

Well we wont be hitting any corners hard. I know for a fact that our Buells will do better than any of the 6-800 pound harleys out there with inexperienced riders. ILL BE THERE

Well, damn.. I'm afraid you guys won't be seeing me.. looks like I'm "snowbound" for awhile. I guess it IS December (what crappy timing though). The weatherman says more snow on the way with temps in the 20's.. grrr [smirk]

Bummer... I am still planning on going. I live up in the hills near Estacada, despite news reports we dont actually have snow here despite the news channels saying we do. the moisture is headed south so no more snow for PDX,
I go to work in a few hours so will gauge the road conditions. if theres 2 much icy stuff on the roads ill skip it, but at this point its still a go. Theres a polar bear ride coming up Jan 1st, if this falls thru, maybe that will be a alternative

just got home a little bit ago,. the news media has blown this all out of proportion, Some areas got snow, but SE PDX is dry as a bone,, a little dustings in the gutters and against curbs but the roads are dry. Drove fast all the way in and all the way home. ROADS are A-ok from the hills where i live and all over downtown PDX. Gonna be a real cold Biotch, but im still going. working in the garage prepping the bike. Hope to see you guys in the AM,,
Gonna hit the dollar store and Bi-mart and get LOADS of toys. see the ABATE website for suggestions for toys.

Selfie and my new Buell Helmet,,,Thats my old Sony mavica, it works great for CL and Feebay and this website as my regular digital camera takes pix too large and i have a hard time downsizing the files to fit on here.
