So I did my first track day with fastrackriders and my experience went like this: My buddy and I went up from San Diego to Fontana in his pick up with the bikes and gear in the back and got a few hours of sleep then got to the track at 0600 and found a spot in the garage (have three large buildings with lots of stalls, all new and well kept) and unloaded the bikes and went to tech inspect and got fitted with our transponders. I enrolled in the rider improvement course so I got to hit the track right away with two students per instructor and each session was 20 minutes then back into the class room. My first few laps was around 2:20 and my fastest lap was 2:03 and some change. I soon found where I was able to pass and who I could pass and I could even pass a few bikes on the long NASCAR high banking along the front straight! My XB12R did not skip a beat going WFO for nearly 8 hours and two tanks of gas but my front rotor is smeared and my tires are nicely melted and knee pucks ground down. I did go off the track once and the end of the back straight when I trail braked a bit to much and my front end washed a bit but I kept it up and sneaked between the hay bales and back on the track. Check out www.fastrackriders.com and look at level 1 and Aaron Brandes for my lap times. My bud Anthony Harrison was on his 954 and I had the only Buell out there and got a lot of thumbs up sporting my Hawk exhaust I have pictures also but have to remember how to post them. And oh heck was I tired and sore for a few days after...
