I took the motorcycle course yesterday and after completing all the road test, my 2007 buell xb9r , wouldn't start anymore( I was turning my bike on and off after each road course event). Good thing the instructor had a trickle charge...charged it up for 20 mins and the bike finally started up. While riding to my buddy's house, the instrument cluster gave out on me on the freeway, made it to my buddy's house and then it died again. Charged it up and left his house to come back home, while riding the oil pressure light came on and engine light came on....and it started bogging a lot. I was on the freeway and both the lights were on and basically the bike died on me. So I don't know if its the battery or something else

sounds like its the voltage regulator or connector.have the battery load tested first

sounds like a charging issue.put a good charge on the battery and then have it load tested it will probably test good.get a multi meter and check the battery voltage while running

IMO you should still Test the outputs on the Voltage Regulator and the stator as per the service manual. Make sure they didn't ruin your battery.

yeah its the voltage regulator. regulator went out and it discharged the battery. new battery wont last very long. 2003-2007 had defective regulators. the factory upgraded them in 2008. u'll need a new regulator and upgrade kit.
