I was wondering what were some of the lengths of different model buell shocks out there that will work on a firebolt. I know the scg is lower and the ss is alot longer is there anything that is alittle longer than the firebolt shock without stepping up to the ss shock?

To get a shock length in between the stock R shock and the Ss shock, you would have to have one made. There isnt one that fits in between them.

Ok well I was afraid of that I searched for awhile and came up with nothing, but thanks for the reply.

maybe a lowering link on an Ss shock would work?

but that leaves you raked a little bit, I don't know what you should do after you raise the tail up to make the forks match.

Ss shock will not work on an R without some sort of an adapter something like the set up xtremelow is running on his

Let me chime in the thing that makes a Ss shock so much "longer" than a stock S/R shock isn't the shock rather the upper mounting location.

Ss shock is about 1" longer than a stock S/R shock, and an Scg shock is about 1 1/2" shorter than a stock S/R shock.

Does anyone have a picture of a ss shock because I could always fab up something thats no big deal. But with the stock R shock on my firebolt with the ss swingarm my ground clearance is 2". Another 1" would be just about perfect since the wife can completely flat foot it now with some room to go.
