I just can't decide whether a Firebolt or 1125cr would work for me? Input because of the time constraints to buy a certain 1125cr if I go that way.

The type of rider I am: I want a bike to commute to work, keep up with coworkers who ride v-rods, and probably never see a track day. Will use it for a six hour ride to sturgis maybe this summer. Probably not much more distance than that. Major concern is reliability and the stator issue on the CR scares me. For daily recreational canyon riding, will the firebolt suffice? What really distinguishes the 1125? There is a CR with 3k on the clock for $6400 close to me for sale. It is 1400 more than my original budget. So is it worth it? There is also an XB12r firebolt for $4k with 8,0000 miles on the clock close by. So what should I do?

It has been my experience with an XT that a Vrod will not keep up in the twisties, but on the highway/top speed yeh, the firebolt will be sucking exhaust, as far as the CR, if it is an '08, I would get it, '09 is a pass, they were the ones with suckee stators

Buell didn't make a CR in 08.

I have replaced the stator in my CR once under warranty. Will most likely get an 08 stator to replace with when the second 09 stator goes out. The bolt will more than keep up in the twisties. Highway will be a different story, but I doubt they will be running 150 the whole time?

What distinguishes the CR, on a positive side, is the rotax. It will flat out run compared to the bolt. It is all personal preference though, from what you describe you need, the Firebolt would be my recommendation. Good luck with your choice.

Id say $6400 is steep on the cr and just listening to people on here complain about stators i just wouldnt own one. I ride with a vrod And he catches up in the straits but i dont ever ride much over 80 . The firebolt doesnt sound like a bad deal id recomend looking at that 1st. There reliable and fun bikes.

Thanks. I fell in love with buells before the 1125. Just called the guy with the firebolt. Crossing my fingers he calls me back. :)

You will love it im sure the only thing they lack is top end speed. 0-80 is fun though and there just different than other sport bikes so you get a lot of looks when you drive by. Just plain fun bikes
