These spools were a free bee to this member ! He is still in High school and this is his first bike and works weekends to pay for any mods or parts he needs.A great kid that could use all are support.

First of all,I would like to express my appreciation to a fellow Bueller redrider for donating sliders for my sons XB12s. As far as supporting our members and there products, I agree 100% we should always if we can. Now most importantly AgateJr12s is 16yrs old, holds a 3.0 and works weekends in the bitter cold spraying water to support his passion. So when he wants to add a few mods to his bike,he can use all the support he can get.It was very admirable for redrider to help a young Bueller out!

Well...Since I'm the only sponsor that sells sliders I figured I'd chime in...[cool]

I think it's always good for people to be creative while modding to save a buck. After all, that's how I got started so [up] to you guys making your own stuff for your bike.

Of course, I always appreciate the support business that you all give 5-0dro on a continual basis and am truly blessed to have it so thank you all for that so [up] to you as well.

If I may, I'd like to offer a word of caution to AgateJr or anyone else making these or any similar axle sliders (including skate wheel sliders). Keeping the sliders centered in the axle during a crash will be what keeps the sliders from creating any undue secondary damage to the forks or the swing-arm. While it appears that the rear spools have such a feature, the fronts do not. If you can find a stack of washers (or something else that fit over your bolt and inside the axle (snugly - different sizes on either side) and retained by a hex nut, that would be a huge improvement over what you have pictured.

Another downside to having exposed hardware on a slider is that in the event of a significant slide, the head of the fastener will likely be ground down and it will be difficult to remove them.

Let me know if that doesn't make sense. Thanks again for the support! [up]

Alright oh9bolt, so you felt the need to tell me to support a forum sponsor and buy their axle sliders... twice...and then you go and do this mod yourself???? [confused]
