What size wire mesh did you use here? Any reason you used diamond over square?

It looks like it is about a 6 x 6 (6 wires per inch - Wire Mesh Measuring Basics ) is that about what you are looking at?

What did you use to secure the mesh to the cover? Is the mesh plastic or metal. What auto store did you get it at. It looks nice, I have wanted to do that to the hole in the front of the chin fairing.

Very cool looking, and as you said also cool sounding. How does it hold up when washing, or riding the bike in the rain? I can see the inner shell is there and hopefully it will block most water that could possibly get in there? Please post up how well it functions in the extreme conditions of a down pour that one might get caught up in?
