Hey, so I'm in the market for a new bike...there's a used 07 xb12scg I had my eyes on but can't make up my mind on buying new or used. I'd ask at HD but surely they'll just try to sway me into buying a new model.
So the question is what are the differences between an 07 & 09 xb12scg? (other than price) The 07 has 14,000mi but looks to be in great shape. Any opinions, pros or cons
Thanks:D

First off welcome to the Forum.

Post '08 = Newer "Learning" ECM's & upgraded Oil Pump Gear.
(Some '07s will be included in the "Post '08" category. And the "Learning" ECM's will generally only compensate for either an upgraded intake OR exhaust. They have trouble with both and may require a custom map just like the earlier years.)

I don't believe the '07 bikes were blacked-out like the newer ones either.

That's all I can think of right off hand. Either way, it's a Buell so you can't go wrong. ;) Good luck with your decision and post up some pics of the beauty when you get it.

(Edit: Dang, forgot about the brakes. '07 = 6 piston Front caliper / '09 = 8 piston)

There are many updates inside that you wouldn't notice. The 09 does have better breaks. I think the 07 would be worth it if you could bring it home for less that $7500. Any higher and I would recommend buying the 09.

Oh and welcome! :D

Welcome to the forum. I purchased a used '05 and love it. But there are many differences from an 05-09. Just depends on how much you're WILLING to pay for those differences.

For me, it was simple, SAVE A BUCK and invest the rest into the bike for custom mods.

I had the choice of buying an brand new 2008, or a brand new 2009. There nothing like buying a bike...new or used...it's a great feeling...but the new bike....it forces you to take your time and appreciate your new bike (the break-in period). It's almost like dating a chick...some you can jump in the sack with right away...and some you have to swoon, take your time and fall in love...with your bike.
