i'm at a complete loss here and any help would be appreciated. though my buell wrenching skills are top-notch...when it comes to ecm tuning/mods/data/logging/jibberish it is beyond my computer skills. though my POS shop computer has patch cord and ecmspy loaded for 03-07 models, doing anything whatsoever with a 2008-2010 ecm is way beyond what i'm capable of nor do i have any desire to learn. i've looked at newest ecmspy and tuner pro rt and they are beyond my primitive computer skills. so here's my question and though the answer may not be simple the question is: i have a 2008 lightning long with 200 miles on it and a 2010 ulysses with 3000 miles on it. the factory set warm-idle speed of 1150 rpm on both bikes is annoying as hell to me. i would like each ecm to be programmed for a 1000 rpm idle. brett stoner(lawdog) does it but haven't heard back from him. would anyone be capable of performing this task if i would send them both ecms and pay for their time? is it possible for a knowledgeable ecm guy with a 1203 thunderstorm rig to simply plug each of my ecms into their rig and do this simple mod? happy to pay for your time to do same. let me know via email if possible. any and all help greatly appreciated. regards, john

wanted to bump this thread. brett appears too busy to assist. is anybody out there capable of helping me with this favor? would really appreciate it. thanks again.

That's what you THINK he said!! I don't know any 'experts' on here OR locally with any real DDFI3 experience. There has to be SOMEONE out there though.

both bikes are thunderstorm motors which have the curb idle speed set by the IAC and the ecm info. there is no idle speed adjustment screw as on the 03-07 models.

Try this guy if you want, his name is Nelson Bruno-(706) 263-9260. He is in N.Ga. He did a '07 ULY & '03 XB9S for me. Am very pleased. He also did a couple of H-Ds also wih equal results.

Damn I got two lines in thinking it might really be a job opportunity, just to stop reading and go back to being depressed. Thanks guys!

kd4gru: nelson bruno's knowledge is incredible. spoke to him on phone yesterday morning and fixed me up. thanks very much for the help one and all and for nelson's #.

Please elaborate? I'm sure others would be interested in what went on? I know I am always open to new possibilities.

it was pretty simple and keep in mind that i'm an older bastard and ride pretty gently. i don't need maximum engine output but i do like a nice idle and smooth consistent fueling. my 07 cityX and 07 uly both have hawk mufflers, basic race map i installed, stock air filters, all else stock. they run great and idle is of course adjustable with factory thumbwheel screw. on the other hand my 08 lightning long with 200 miles on it and my 2010 uly with 3000 miles not so great. the long has a drummer muffler and the uly has a hawk muffler. according to nelson these additions with stock air filter upset the air flow and the ecm gets confused on the speed of the exiting exhaust. a K&N in each one solved the fueling issue that was annoying and brought the idle down to a liveable consistent 1050rpm. lesson learned.
