Hey guys I'm thinking of starting a small painting business, pretty much just for summertime..does anyone do this? Advice appreciated..

Not a painting business, I'm an electrician by trade...but the main thing to check out before anything, is Insurance. Getting bonded, to cover your ass, costs some, but insurance can make-or-break your bottom line.
Check your states requirements, and city ordinances before you even register your DBA. Some require only to hold a note in case you damage a clients property, some you need to carry it for every employee, not including workman's comp.

Me and my brother do this once in a while on the side. Usually takes us about 3 or 4 non full days to do 1 house and on average make 850 each.

did it for a short time. two stage airless is quick and easy, sand blasting took some time. prep is what makes the difference.
