Does it hurt to be a little overfull on oil?

I fixed a leak on my 04 xb12s and had to add a little oil but it looks like I may have over filled by a few ounces say 3 or 4 ,I'm wondering will that hurt it to leave it in or do I need to drain it out?

Since the motor is a dry sump there's no oil to be splashed around in the bottom of the case. It can cause issues by overflowing the resevoir and then on to the back tire.
Personally, I shoot for the middle of the dipstick. There's no reason or any real benifit to be super anal about the max fill line.

I totally pictured Schwartzenager with a dipstick clutched in his mitt hollering into the unknown.

Good luck getting it perfect if that's what you're after. I get a different reading every time I check it. Quirky bikes, love mine to death. Cooter is right...

Yeah not worried about getting it perfect,i just didn't want any issues with it being a few ounces over.
