It was in the mid 70's today in Upstate New York so I took the lightning out for a nice fall ride. Rode pretty hard for about 30 mins then decided to kill the pace and take it easy on the way home. Im about 5-7 miles away from home and I take a left off the main road onto a back road and dont you know it, I low side right in the middle of the T intersection. Quickly assessed the situation and picked the bike up. Left Bar end mirror snapped off, both left axle sliders scrapped up, Shifter ground down and bent up which put a decent scrape in the timing cover and my footpeg has a chunk out of it. Rode home in pain and come to find out, I have a fractured right foot. [down]

Sounds like I have a nice winter project on my hands now. Stay safe boys and girls [up]

last week it was monday (in texas), warm day, on the way home good gas mileage; found some good food; got to carve some good roads; got home decided to ride out a few wheelies. 1 more & turn in the driveway. then BLAM i had to lay down the bolt trying not to turn into gravel and busted the brake lever; license frame; oil light

couldnt believe it; going 1 mph leaned too far and had to drop it (didnt feel like catching it i guess)

buellerpilot hooked me up with some levers; quick turn of the oil filter; new tabs on the license frame whoo man :p

Glad your Ok.

I also live in upstate NY and if I didn't start taking the Thunderbolt apart to repaint it I would have been out as well.

oh damn that sucks good luck on a quick recovery, i'm glad you and the bike did'nt get too busted up, ride safe

I'm tempted to take this winter off. I like to ride, but only above 35 degrees or so. 30 and below are terrible.

But, it's not so much the weather. It's the fact that I only ride once or twice a week in the winter because it gets so cold nowadays. I'd save so much money sitting it and cutting down the insurance.

Meoff, Im sure you know when you tell someone your from NY, they instantly think NYC. So SYR is upstate to most outsiders. I guess CNY is an inside thing, haha.

I live in Central Square, If I didnt have a busted foot id said lets go for a ride. Some nice ass roads between fulton and the square.
