drive gear bearing

has anyone had a problem with the drive belt side bearing going out?

there are know problems...especially the black seal bearings.

bearings get enormous pressure when braking hard.

well the bearing went out on mine. the black piece that holds the bearings apart poped out and all he bearings was rolling around freely. luckily we got the bearing out from the out side. Instead of tearing the motor apart.. going to the local buell dealer and picking up the parts tomarrow.

Not to jack your thread, but on the subject of bearings, read about Hybrid/Ceramic bearings that you can purchase. Don't use them personally, but will when needed. I understand they roll much better & will easily outlast conventional bearings.

You have to determine the exact size of the bearing you're replacing and order accordingly. Just an option.

you, but ceramic bearings will cost ya a bundle.

either change to upgraded bearing with the orange seal or get some skf's.
