Hi

Have just bought me a 2009 1125cr with d & d exhaust system and a tuned ecm. It's too loud! Do you think it is dangerous to drive with stock exhaust for a few weeks, until I get to reprogram my ecm to stock?

Not sure who did the tuning for the pipe, but I seriously doubt it will run lean unless it wasn't done right to begin with. The stock tune for the factory exhaust is very lean to begin with, adding fuel (in the right places) will only help.

not doubting you but why would they make your bike run extra lean brand new. every person i know after putting an exhaust on with out tunning makes it run rich. so turning it down being tuned would only make it run lean when back to stock

Every 1125 out there (stock) runs lean. It's a proven fact, it was an epa mandated thing. Gotta pass emissions. Lean tuning is the only way to accomplish that. Almost every aftermarket pipe out there requires MORE fuel than it would stock. Throw a pipe at an 1125 and you're headed toward 16:1 or worse. I've seen 18:1 myself, that's getting to borderline detonation and putting a hole in the top of a piston.

These motors seem to like 12.8:1 or even a little richer to make good power and run cooler. The highest number I've seen on a fuel map so far was about 223 at around 7500-8000 rpm. The max is 255. I'll see if I can find the map for mine when I get my bike back together.
