Drummer SS Feeler....

Buellxb Forum

Help Support Buellxb Forum:

I know know he changed his packing materials due to my exact complaint about blow out issues. Its just Bristol Cores stainless matting wrapped around the core then a high temp fiberglass matting. Im glad hes warrentying his new pipes for life.......I just wish he would do the same for his older design. Its not really fair to 1st gen owners that his materials wouldnt hold up. I know the new design is fully welded and it was done to reduce build cost and time considerably, but yet his price has stayed the same or gone up. Ive talked with Kevin in depth about his mufflers and Know why he has done the things he has as far as manufacturing. Its just a shame that in all hes claims to be saving with his new design that the savings arnt passed along to the consumer.

IMHO the price of admission to get a Drummer is ridiculous for something that's going to need re-pack eventually. What's the advantage over a Jardine which is less money but has to be re-packed also? Give me zero maintenance like a D&D or Hawk any day.

I do agree. Its a great sounding pipe and Ive hade no tuneing issues, Im just ready for a change. At this rate I doubt it will Happen though. If I dont hear back from the Person Im dealing with by Monday I will just strip the paint and either repaint or try and polish it again.

DRUMMER FEELER PART 2.......

First deal fell through for now and I got restless looking at the chipping ceramic paint.

I have since rid the pipe of paint and its back down to a machined stainless look.

Its still up for grabs, but I want some opinions as to what I should do with the finish.

1. Clear it the way it is
2. Paint high temp aluminum
3. paint high temp silver
4. paint black Chrome (Duplicolor Product)

Any other ideas guys just toss them out.....

Lol. I will keep it before I go through that hassle. I'm pretty much done with trying to get rid of it. Just trying to decide on what I want to do with the finish on it.

Make it shine like I did with mine. Everyone always ask me what kind of exhaust it is especially after they hear it. As you can tell I like showing mine off that's why I don't run a chin fairing. Get the mothers billet polish out and go to town. This is what you need.

Polish it, it's stainless, right?

Im not sure how I feel about polished......thats why I painted in the 1st place. There is nothing Shiny on my bike and it would stick out like a sore thumb.

I would be more inclined to leave it machined/brushed to match the forks insted of polishing it.

This is the kit

Black chrome would be different. Not sure how it would stand up to the heat.

I can actually reach down and touch my muffler after or durring a ride because its not so hot it will burn you. I think that may be the header wrap working.......

Before someone pionts out the billet timing cover.......Its getting painted/powdercoated too.......lol

It's crazy looking at your bike now knowing it use too be a yellow R. I like it better now!

Deff a shocker to know it is the same bike....lol
Most people dont beleave me when I show them pics.

never would have guessed it was yellow.. it looks great btw

It looked good as yellow also. I'm sure I asked you before, did you rewire or stuff everything under the S windscreen?

Nice so you always have the option to switch back. If I can figure out a way to do it using my R triple I may do the same.
