Well I was helping a friend move yesterday and after we packed up he needed me to ride his bike to the new place. It is a 2008 1098. Well I have to say it was the most painful 20 mins of riding ever! The riding position, the tank pushing into your stomach and crotch and the pressure on the wrists.... The only thing making it fun was the crazy amount of power the bike had.
I got back on my buell after ( 2009 xb12ss ) and it was like sitting on a nice recliner... a big sigh and grin when I rode home.

Ducati Omaha had an open house/test ride day after the 848 came out. I was riding a '91 Kawi EX500 at the time (my first bike). I thought the same thing when I rode the 848. I enjoyed the short ride on the predetermined route they took us on, but I agree the wrists were shot after about 5 minutes. I don't think it would be quite as bad now (I now ride an '08 CBR600RR and '09 XB12R) because I'm more used to holding myself up with my core rather than putting most of my weight on my wrists.

The 848 seemed like a great bike though, but yes much more aggressive riding position than I was/am used to.

I had an 08 1098, rode it almost 9000 miles. You think our XB's throw some heat, it's nothing compared to the 1098! Riding position was more aggressive but no less comfortable than my XB12R. I don't ride a motorcycle to have "comfort" if that's what I'm looking for I stay home on the couch.....I also rode an 848, brakes sucked and the motor lacked in power. The 1098 has it all.........wish I could get another!

Being a EX Ducati owner(not got to ride a 1098 yet).Ducati's are built for speed and handling. Not a bike that is known to be comfortable. My 748 seat was like sitting on a piece of plywood.
