Got the same email :D

Hi I'm Jeff Roland,
I am sorry for the delay in my answer but I have been very busy these days.
First of all this beautiful 2008 Ducati Superbike 1098S is my personal bike. This bike has been meticulously maintained and has only 7,701miles. The oil has been changed religiously every 2k miles with Motul 300V and K&N Filters. Just recently, the front & rear brake pads were replaced with Galfer 1003 Compound Pads. The brake and clutch fluids were flushed with Motul RBF660 DOT 4 Brake Fluid, the coolant was flushed with Maxima Coolanol, and the chain was adjusted and lubed.  The front tire was just replaced with a Michelin Pilot Power 2CT and still has the threads on it and the rear tire has about 30% of its tread left. Included with the bike are 2 Keys, DDA, Immobilizer Card, Bike Cover & Battery Tender. The paint and body are in immaculate condition and believe me this is a very strong running bike. I am forced to sell my bike ASAP because I need money to pay the mortgage on my house. As you know in these days many people confront with the financial crisis so I've decided to let this beautiful bike go.
You will find more pics on my photobuket account: http://s1183.photobucket.com/albums/x475/roland-08ducati/
If you decide to buy it, you'll receive all the papers, owner manuals, 2keys, a buy-sell contract already signed by me and the clear title. For this transaction I want to use ebay because I want to provide you a fast and very secure way. They will handle the transaction for me. You will make the payment to ebay and they will hold the money until you receive and inspect the bike. ONLY AFTER you receive and inspect it (you have 5 days for inspection) ebay will release the payment to me. The inspection time period will begin as soon as you receive the bike at your address. Meanwhile eBay will hold the money into a trust account. So, this is not a blind transaction, you can see the bike before you decide to buy it. This way we are both protected : I will know that I have a serious buyer who has the money to pay me and you will be able to see and inspect the bike before buying it .
The bike is priced to sell quickly and the final price that I'm asking for it is $2,800.00 including shipping and handling costs. I can't afford to take days off my work for this sale so I'm trying to sell it online. If you are really interested in purchasing the bike please reply to this email and I will provide further instructions regarding payment and delivery.

Some scammers tried that crap on my mother.
They didn't know my brother is a federal prosecutor. Mother turned over all the contact info to the feds. Ha!
Turned out there was a couple in the midwest using counterfeit wal-mart money orders to rip people off.
The "I'll send you more than asking, send me back the difference" crap.

and there is no identifying details such as rego, vin etc. in the email or listing.

SCAM!

I was selling my wides Honda accord on eBay last year when I had some one tell me that they saw the exact same car on craigslist for $4600. The car was worth about $29000. I email the guy and acted like I was going to buy it. I told him I would bring cash and fly anywhere to pick it up for that price. He told me it was all crated up and ready to ship. I ended up getting a phone number for him but it was a prepaid phone. I got the area it was from and searched for the name of the person that was in he email address. Low and behold I found the person got his home number and address and called him. You should have heard the surprise in his voice. It was even funnier when I told him he shouldn't try to sell a car to some one who already has it parked in their garage. Needless to say he got prosecuted an had to spend a little time in the pokey for being such a dumbass. I still laugh about this story every time I see shot like this.
